It Means To Be Poor?
What does it mean to be poor?
An economically well-off father, wanting his son to know what is to be poor, led him to spend a couple of days in the bush with a peasant family.
It was three days and two nights in their
housing field.
In the car, returning to the city, the father
asked his son, what did you think the experience?
good, 'replied the child with an eye to the distance ..
Y. .. What did you learn?, Insisted the father ...
The son answered:
That we have a dog and they have four, - We have a swimming pool with water that reaches the middle of the garden ... and they have an endless river of clear water, where there are little fish, watercress and other beauties.
That we import from the East lanterns to light our garden ... while they are illuminated with stars and moon.
Our patio reaches to the fence ... and theirs comes to
horizon.
We buy our food ... them, sow and harvest them.
We hear CD's ... They hear a symphony of life zinzontes, Chui, parrots, frogs, toads, beetles and other animals ... all this
sometimes dominated by the sonorous song of a neighbor who works his mount.
We cook on electric stove ... They eat everything that is the glorious flavor of wood fire.
To protect ourselves we are surrounded by a wall, with alarms ...
They live with their doors open, protected by the
friendship of their neighbors.
We live connected to the cellular, computer, the TV ...
They, in turn, are 'connected' to life, the sky, the sun, water, green mountains, animals, their crops, their family.
The father was shocked by the depth of his son ... and then the child exited:
Thanks Dad, for letting me see really how poor we are.
Every day we are poor in spirit and appreciation for nature
What are the great works of our creator. We care about BE, HAVE, HAVE YM? S have instead of worrying about SER.
