How to teach my dog? Developing The Ability To Speak With Your Dog
This question often comes accompanied by another condition, such as: "How to teach my dog not to bark excessively." This being the case, the issue of the barking is somewhat complex. First, because there are very barking breeds a matter of genetics, and in these cases is very difficult to extinguish this behavior. Then you need to determine where it is right that the dog barks and what not.
It would be improper to claim that the dog does not bark at all, but you can try to limit the barking to cases that might be useful (compared to the arrival of strangers at home, in the presence of danger, etc..) Or those times when the barking is annoying and not respond to positive stimuli such as games.
Another complication lies in the inability to remove certain external stimuli such as noises or dogs barking neighbors. In these cases, the extinction of the behavior should be sought from desensitization. That is, to accustom the animal to these stimuli. This aspect makes it much easier if you start training your dog from a puppy and have not acquired the bad habits.
In other cases the query "how to teach my dog," is whether this education can be imparted by the owner of the pet. In this case the answer is yes.
Indeed, when dog training is undertaken by the owner, can be a little harder, take longer, and not achieving the same results as a professional trainer, but if you are looking to buy the dog some good manners only and is fairly obedient, home training can be performed without major complications and with very positive results.
