Thoughts of the day from a think tank that is here to stay

Have you ever thought that a think tank and what it is that the tank that my colleagues spend their time thinking? Well, you're not alone, in fact, almost every day someone applies to join the Online Think Tank and ask this question. So perhaps it's time we responded.

Below is a list of topics that we have seen today, and each was taken from the thoughts of the day. Every day we take anywhere from 40-50 topics that span many industries and areas of human activities - we have chosen some of today is for your information and help you understand the answer to the question: what does a think tank thinking? After each topic will be quick thinking and quick summary:

1. They are our regulatory bodies to give ideas to our business partners how to handle business competition?

Note that AMD, the Federal Trade Commission and the American Anti-Trust Institute are ganging up actions against Intel Intel and quoting from Japan and the EU. But why is Japan and the European Union after the Intel? Competition. We see many companies in those nations want Intel secrets and market share and, therefore, they are using the guise of regulation to help companies get a leg up on Intel, also help them to steal trade secrets. Who controls these foreigners how to do this? Well, we did, and Adam Smith told us how this can happen in capitalist markets.

The Fair Trade Commission of Japan has now ruled against Intel - AMD and the company has filed a lawsuit in Delaware. Of course, AMD has grown well and achieve market share, without the help of regulatory authority and the construction of several new production facilities. Why are we attacking the winners of the market as Intel and Microsoft? And we do not realize that foreign nations regulators are attacking the same society and evil U.S. trade deficits?

2. "The Cyclist's Training Manual - Fitness and Skills for each pilot" by Guy Andrews and Simon Doughty. , 2007.

Almost anyone can ride a bicycle, yet in many U.S. cities with the greatest SUV now on the road is not safe to go cycling. This means that many people will not stop working and that does not sound good for obesity problems in America. Meanwhile, the DOT is making statements that bicycles are the primary means of transportation and the creation of bike paths away money on things like maintenance of bridges. Of course, if there were more bike lanes and more people would use their bikes more often to go around, so this is really a catch-22. As a long-distance cyclist, I can tell you that it can become very dangerous out there at times.

3. Magazine Article: New ScientistTech - plant genes switched on by sound waves - August 30, 2007.

It seems that the sound can change the DNA of plants, which makes sense because the organic cells respond to vibrational energy. It also means we can better understand the frequency and help plants grow better and faster. This could mean higher harvests, better immune systems against pests and agriculture produce like crazy. Maybe we really can feed the world, after all, even with the Bee Colony collapse. Maybe we can do faster the trees to replenish the rainforest allowing them to absorb more CO2. Think of this as there are some applications of these disturbing findings:

Mi-Jeong Jeong of the National Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology in Suwon, South Korea, and colleagues say they have identified two genes in rice that respond to sound waves. They also say that the promoter of one of the genes sensitive to sound that might be associated with other genes to make them respond to look too.

4. Working together to make progress in spider web design - social spiders working together.

It makes sense that a complex biological system like a spider, and considering his daily protein intake that actually has the ability to work with other spiders. When they found the huge canvases of Texas that are sometimes 20 feet wide and go to the length of a football field, shows that social spiders are, in fact, the king of their domain. We can learn a lot from spiders in this way and maybe this can help us to make new materials for the production? Consider for a moment. Spiders can also be used to protect our borders, as well or get rid of mosquitoes near the football parks that may have West Nile virus.

5. Blogging goes mainstream in the polls. This piece from Slashdot.org:

The blogosphere has hit the mainstream, according to a new survey that reveals that 80% of Americans know what a blog is, 50% regularly visit blogs, and 8% publish their own blog. The survey also reveals that more women than men are bloggers, with 20% of American women who have visited blogs having their own against 14% of men.

In fact, blogging has come a long way, and what has often been viewed as an ego-centric online diary is now transformed into a communication device used by organizations, artists, entrepreneurs, students and created an entirely new phenomenon of all online social networking. The implications were also seen with a drop in TV viewing. The grandmother has a blog, is not it? What's missing by not having a blog?

6. Solar Powered WiFi - is feasible, this excerpt from Slashdot.org also:

A small U.S. startup has announced that it has created a system for running WiFi routers at remote sites using only the power of the sun. Among the first round of products from Solis Energy is the solar power plant, which is touted as being able to provide 12, 24 and 48 Volts DC for use in stand-alone applications such as surveillance cameras and outdoor Wi-Fi .

This means a small satellite dish for each village and WiFi that the program One Laptop Per Child OLPC can effectively solve the problems concerning the "Digital Divide", maybe they will really do. It might work for rural development in Honduras, Congo, Outback or rural China? Of course you can, it's just a matter of will, time, volunteers and resources that you see?

7. Diamonds are forever, but what about the 7000-carat diamond found recently?

Not long ago the BBC reported that Diamond World Record was found, was more than twice the size of the center of the crown jewels in Britain. De Beers Mining Company, of course, found it, but what to do with something so big? Sell for billionaires in Dubai or in China? What else can we use it for diamonds have many interesting features and the physical point of view there is much you can do with it, perhaps humanity should experience a little '?

8. Neurons in the feelings and gut, there is perhaps something more than we think?

The human stomach has neurons in it. Do you think belly dancers to develop all the abdominal muscles and bounce all the cells in that region of the body would spur on what many call the "Gut instinct", that is to say belly dancing would increase "Intuition" skill in dancing? If so, why? What have you discovered? You will not get a runner up endorphin feeling of well being? These questions were recently asked by a professional belly dancer and explanations we received were very charming, but none of this is a reality or just mythology and stories of gypsies?

9. Groped for China to curb inflation, control of food prices.

It 'amazing what the success of capitalism has done for China, but interesting that they can go back on all this now and drop the control of prices for food, in order to contain inflation, rather than going to a floating currency. China said that 80% of its inflation came from rising food costs, but why is this? Fields polluted rivers and dead zones off the coast preventing supply of fish. Rice and fish food are enormous. Price controls have the opposite effect to that free-markets are in matters of efficiency, no one will ever learn. Quick solutions do not work yet and China should float their currency, that cliff is fast moving and their economy is still very fragile indeed.

10. How can a person be said to have interests in every field?

As the line Think Tank Coordinator I am often asked how we can have skills, knowledge and experience in many fields. Well, personally, I'm a former athlete (Miler), have some experience in local politics, business (the franchisor), in perpetual tourist board, writer (capacity beginners, but a lot of volume) and come from a hell of a genetic line of over achievers. My Interests' s "human experience" and all that entails, all that was, and it can be. So my interests are everything, and I see it all as one, all connected together and then you can not find the hypocrisy in the statement that you have interests in everything.

It therefore seems that if one thinks and sees everything as one and then having to find connections between all multiple view and cross-pollination is a piece of cake. We see a lot at the Think Tank on-line, it seems natural to me, but for observers puts them in a state of disbelief, which is fine as long as they do not participate in the think tanks themselves.

11. The company would be wise not to damage its eminent creative genius Achiever

We have to be so careful not to damage the young genius, but we must allow mentoring and guidance, if we can not do this then we will be losing the best that the next generation has to offer. Worse still, these genes may turn against us and how smart or brilliant as our kids smarter today, you could easily unravel everything we are and everything that we built out of spite, revenge or anger. Perhaps we should think here. We can now mentor, or buy more police, prisons and drug rehabs later, which will cost 100 times after the damage is done than the minimum cost of coaching and mentoring would be correct now.

12. We should privatize social security?

Chile privatized social security, and seems to work well. Of course the U.S. has 300 billion of people so that test has very little and their culture is very different from ours here. The U.S. Social Security is a Ponzi scheme and this is a real problem, am I allowed to say that? Oh no, not truth, that is how the Social Security withholding taxes go into a general fund not in a marked special fund social security.

2042, remember this date could be earlier than 10 years if things do not improve. Inflation will pull us out of trouble, and even risks to government safety, but certainly will not help retirees living on fixed incomes, you may also call Kevorkian now? Ah, do not pretend that I said or just finished the book by Ken Dychwald for the third time.

Well, there you go, that was 25% of the thoughts of the day today, to help you understand the level of discipline was to be a member of the Online Think Tank, but if you like a lot of thinking, then it probably is not very frightening. Sincerely, Lance ....
